Building & Property Coverage
We provide advice with respect to various and often complex first-party property coverage issues, including such perils as hurricanes, fires, earthquakes, water damage, asbestos and mold. We are often retained by our clients to investigate and resolve property damage, business income, and extra expense claims. We assist in the retention of experts, the assessment of the claims, and the representation of the insurers at reference proceedings.
Umbrella/Excess Coverage
Tang & Maravelis, P.C.’s insurance coverage practice group also represent excess and umbrella insurers. Our practice group often serves as monitoring counsel to assess the risk posed by a particular claim or matter, and to help in the assessment of their exposures above the underlying coverage(s).
Bad Faith
Our lawyers advise and represent insurers that are litigating cases involving bad-faith allegations and other extra-contractual claims. We are often called upon by insurers to assess exposures, and to advise them on risks posed by particular claims. We also assist in evaluating matters, and addressing and responding to claims of bad faith and/or unfair claims practices.
